The availability of cheap cameras and video editing software is giving rise to an explosion in amateur movie-making, and often the results are incredible to see. 

The next generation of David Attenboroughs are likely to get their break on the pages of YouTube long before they arrive on television screens. One example of this is Herping With Dylan, a series of short nature videos made by Amanda Stueckel and Dylan Cebulske. Together they've made dozens of videos about snakes, lizards and other wildlife and gained thousands of fans in the process.
